From Brussels to Trento: the precious Flemish tapestries of Bernardo Clesio
Online conference with Luca Mattedi

Woven in Brussels by the most renowned workshop of the time and purchased by Prince-Bishop Bernardo Clesio to decorate the Buonconsiglio Castle, the tapestries in the Tridentine Diocesan Museum depict the Stories of the Passion of Christ in seven episodes. These scenes, richly decorated with glittering gold threads, will be the subject of a conference held by Luca Mattedi, and will offer numerous insights into the history and production processes of these precious textile artefacts.
The webinar will also be an opportunity to discover the collecting tastes of Bernardo Clesio, a cultured and knowledgeable patron of the arts, as well as a leading figure on the European political scene.
