Giuseppe Gerola (1877-1938)
A long-lasting loyalty to Trentino, Italy and to the cultural heritage
The Buonconsiglio Castle organises a commemoration event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Giuseppe Gerola’s death (21 September 1938), with Gian Maria Varanini, Professor of the University of Verona.
Gerola was a great man of culture, first Superintendent after the annexation of Trentino to the Kingdom of Italy, as well as director of the National Museum, which he organized and founded in the Buonconsiglio Castle (after demanding and directing its restoration).
Some unpublished texts by Giuseppe Gerola will be read during the event.
