International Women's Day at the Buonconsiglio Castle

On Tuesday 8 March 2022, on the occasion of the International Women's Day, the Castello del Buonconsiglio | Buonconsiglio Castle joins the initiative of the Ministry for Culture by offering free admission to all women.

At 17.00 (free admission, booking required), the museum's office for educational activities will propose an in-depth study of Romanino's pictorial genius entitled:

Che donne! Esempi al femminile del passato! (What women! Female examples from the past!),
a re-reading of the lunettes frescoed in 1532 by Girolamo Romanino in the Loggia of the Magno Palazzo. Judith, Lucretia, Cleopatra... The protagonists of events narrated in the Bible, in classical mythology and in history, are heroines and women who, for their courage, spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, have distinguished themselves as models to be followed yesterday and perhaps even today...
