Matteo Mancuso

In a short time, the name of Matteo Mancuso, enfant prodige of the guitar, has already made its way around the globe.
His unique guitar technique boggles the mind with its precision and sweeps through various musical genres with total ease. In 2017, he founded the jazz-rock and fusion trio "SNIPS", with Salvatore Lima on drums and Riccardo Oliva on bass, enjoying wide success at many international festivals and meetings, including Musikmesse Frankfurt, Umbria Jazz or NAMM 2019 in Los Angeles. Their version of the Chicken quickly reached over a million views.
In 2020, Matteo founded his new trio with Stefano India on bass and Giuseppe Bruno on drums, also giving space to his compositional vein with original pieces. Graduating in June 2022 in jazz guitar at the Palermo Conservatory with honours and an honourable mention, he resumed his tour and duetted with Al di Meola on classical guitar during the final evening of the Eddie Lang Jazz Festival. In August he played at the prestigious Lugano Estival Jazz with PFM and in Ireland at the New Ross Guitar Festival.
In September 2022 he was Stefano Bollani's guest on the RAI programme Via dei Matti n.0 and on 13 October he played at the Uppsala Jazz Festival in Sweden and opened the Spoleto Jazz Festival.
Al Di Meola said of him: 'An absolute talent: it would take two or three lifetimes for even someone like me to learn to improvise as well on the guitar as he does'. And Steve Vai: "The evolution of the guitar is safe in the hands of musicians like Matteo Mancuso who represent a new level for tone, precision of touch and choice of notes".
