My Life badly told is in part a coming-of-age novel, in part an amused and thoughtful biography, as well as a catalogue of stumbles and of the joy of living. It points out that if it is true that it takes us a lifetime to become ourselves, when looking back, we'll see that our path is well marked by a series of choices, insights, brainwaves and mistakes, often tragicomic or paradoxical.

By drawing on Francesco Piccolo's enormous and varied literary work, the show unravels in an eccentric sequence of stories and situations that inexorably and bizarrely construct such a life that is mirrored in everyone's.
This bittersweet journey through the protagonist's life seems to tell us that life is perhaps not exactly the one you have lived, but the one you remember. And that often you do not live life as you want, but as life itself wants you to.

The show is therefore also an indirect reflection on the art of storytelling, on how time modifies and transfigures events, and often idealises the past, by deleting bad memories and magnifying good ones, thus reinventing reality in the magical order of the tale.
