Nostalghia. Journey among the Christians of the East: open until 5 November

Photos by Linda Dorigo

exhibition , Photographic exhibition

The exhibition, hosted at the Museo Diocesano Tridentino and curated by Annalisa D'Angelo, is composed of 32 prints treated with silver iodide and developed by sodium thiosulphite (early photographic process called calotype); they are a testimony to almost three years of Linda Dorigo and Andrea Milluzzi’sjourney among the Christian communities of nine states in the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Turkey).

Linda is a photographer and Andrea is a journalist, and this exhibition’s aim is to arouse awareness and understanding of what is taking place in those countries . At the same time it lets us meditate on the values of our own culture, and helps us discover places and populations beyond any prejudice.

“Nostalghia” is the thread running through all the pictures, and it refers to those peoples’ sadness and regret about separation from the people and places they love. On the other hand, it’s also their response to the feeling of danger on their identity.

Photographer Linda Dorigo, journalist Andrea Miluzzi and monsignore Lauro Tisi, archbishop of Trento willl attend the exhibition opening.
