Old time jazz by Time Rag Department at the Arco castle

From Berlin, the jazz group playing ragtime and swing with period instruments and extraordinary verve is on Thursday 20 July on the Lizza lawn at the Arco Castle for a new stage of the 'Castle of Wonders' festival.

The Time Rag Department travel on a time machine to recreate the authentic atmosphere of old time jazz.

Ispirati da artisti come Duke Ellington, Paul Whiteman, Sidney Bechet e Bunk Johnson, e dal jazz delle origini in stile New Orleans, i Time Rag Department propongono un jazz ragtime e uno swing fatto di assoli infuocati, dolci melodie sognanti e trascinanti improvvisazioni collettive. 

Thanks to a repertoire of yesteryear, overwhelming and exciting, they are capable of making even the most reluctant listeners dance, and able to create truly evocative and enthralling atmospheres through a sound that has a retro flavour but is absolutely stylish.

Professional musicians from all over Europe, the Time Rag Department are Anton Wunderlich (trombone, piano, vocals), Sofiane Atta (soprano sax, clarinet, backing vocals), Christoph Klan (clarinet, alto sax, vocals), Maximilian Keitel (guitar, banjo, backing vocals), Quentin Bardinet (tenor banjo, vocals) and Matthieu Baud (double bass, backing vocals).
