Painting the darkness

Actually, we are free

exhibition

After the exhibition Brothers and sisters: stories from the prison, on 26 May, Painting the darkness. Actually, we are free will be inaugurated at the The Tridentine diocesan museum of Trento: an exhibition that collects the compositions written by the inmates of the prison of Spini di Gardolo (Trento), as part of the project “A journey for words and images”, promoted by the museum and students of two classes of the Secondary School of Vezzano.
The exhibition represents the conclusion of a personal experience and training that the Tridentine Diocesan Museum started in February 2017 with a group of inmates. The project was led by the director, Domenica Primerano, by the museum educator Valentina Perini, by teacher Riccarda Turrina and by artist Michele Parisi.
Classes 2 A and 3 A of the Secondary School of Vezzano have carried out a project of analysis, reflection and re-elaboration of issues such as imprisonment, justice, punishment, freedom, awareness, prejudice, and forgiveness.
The students have produced their own compositions of various kinds. Their works will be on display and the documentation of the school activity at its various stages will be presented in a video produced by photographer Valentina Degiampietro.
