A fascinating and moving recount of the story of Giorgio Perlasca.

Giorgio Perlasca was from Padua and was a merchant. He saved thousands of Jews, over 5200, in Budapest in the winter of 1944-1945 by pretending to be the Spanish consul. Back in Italy, he didn't tell anyone about that, not even to his own family.

Even today, his story is unknown to most people.

In 1988 he was tracked down by a couple of Hungarian Jews who owe him their life ...

When the journalists asked him the reasons for his actions, he replied: What would you have done in my place?
