Two violins, two violas and two cellos: traditional string sextet formation, performing somme chamber pages in an electrifying concert. Still the youngest winner of the Paganini Prize, lya Gringolts devotes herself not only to orchestral repertoire but also to contemporary music and historical performance practice. He teaches at Zurich University of the Arts and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. He is joined by Franziska Hölscher, soloist, chamber musician and artistic director of festivals (Berliner Philharmonie, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels...).
On viola Gregor Sigl, born into a family of musicians, performs worldwide as a soloist and member of the Artemis Quartet and teaches at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. He is joined by Lily Francis, an American violinist and violist, a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and teacher at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
On the cello, Hagen father and daughter: Clemens has performed as soloist with top orchestras and is a member of the Hagen Quartet with whom he has toured the world for forty years and recorded more than 45 CDs for Deutsche Grammophon.
His daughter, Julia (born in 1995), convincing both as a soloist and in chamber music recitals: her rapid career already includes concerts with Igor Levit, appearances with the Quatuor Arod and the Capuçon Brothers...
