The dream of a different school

Meeting with Eraldo Affinati

Meetings and conferences

The founder of a free Italian school for migrants shows us a country that knows how to donate unconditionally, that knows the value of generosity.

"It's all free. We have no economic dimension. We do not do class groups. We do not value anyone"

Eraldo Affinati describes his Penny Wirton School, founded in Rome in 2008 together with his wife Anna Luce Lenzi. Through teaching Italian to foreigners, another face of Italy comes to light, not the one we are used to see on tv or on the papers.

Author of numerous books, Affinati is one of the most important narrators who turned out in the Nineties and was the finalist of the Strega Award and of the Campiello Prize.

At the end of the event, visitors can visit the exhibition Arte Sella - international exhibition of contemporary art - with free admission.
