The secrets of restoration

Two appointments to observe the restorer working up close.
At the time, the precious Roccabruna panel painting by Paolo Naurizio of the second half of the 16th century is undergoing restoration.
The restoration workshop has been set up within the Diocesan museum's spaces, so that visitors will have the opportunity to take part in the progress, day by day. The purpose of the museum is to enhance the "behind-the-scenes work" and let visitors learn about hard-to-access activities such as restoration, so as to increase awareness of the cultural heritage
The Museum proposes two meetings for visitors to observe closely and understand the restorer's execution and decorative techniques. They will also have the opportunity to go into detail about the painting materials used.
There will also be an in-depth look at the characteristics of the paintings and layers that actually make up the works of art.
The restoration site will be open to the public on two dates: Friday 22 and 29 March, both from 16:30 to 17:30.
Seats are limited: 15 participants; € 7 per person. Booking is required by email prenotazioni@mdtn.it or by tel no. 0461 234419.
The proceeds will help cover part of the cost of the restoration.
