Thompson

Music , Jazz concert

James Thompson, born in Cleveland in the state of Ohio (USA) in 1951, feels deeply Californian, having grown up since his childhood in Pasadina, a municipality in Los Angeles County.

He came to Italy in the 1980s, thanks to his long-time friend and musician Andy J. Forest. This marked the beginning of his brilliant Italian career, which led him to play and record with artists and musicians such as Paolo Conte, Jestofunk, Spagna, Timoria, and Stadio, to name a few.

Most notable is his many years of collaboration with Zucchero, with whom he has participated in European and international tours since 1987. In addition to becoming Italy's leading saxophonist in soul, blues and funk, he is also a composer, flautist, singer and engaging performer.

Thanks to his ability to cross different styles and genres of music and his innate skills as an entertainer and showman, his concerts are an unmissable listening opportunity offering irony, humour and lots of groove.
