Twentieth century Church of Sant'Ilario

FAI Autumn days

Cultural exhibitions and events , Guided tour

The church is a truly valuable architectural work, a gabled building that dates back to 1921-22; it's part of the former "Istituto Provinciale per la Gioventù" (Provincial Institute for Youth) in the village Sant'Ilario of Rovereto. Designed by Giorgio Wenter Marini (1890-1973), it's inspired by the early Christian basilicas, in a vaguely Art Nouveau style.

The high altarpiece is an Immaculate Conception by Luigi Bonazza. It is worth a visit, also because the church is normally closed.
