Conference title: Venus joking with two doves: Hayez's masterpiece between myth and historical reality
On the occasion of the exhibition on Riposo durante la fuga in Egitto (Under the sky of Egypt) by Francesco Hayez , the museum proposes four special meetings, held by art historians who present fascinating themes and talk with the audience.
Today's meeting, curated by Alessandra Tiddia and Roberto Pancheri will deal with some questions such as: ideal mythological figure or "disgusting woman of the plebs"? The most famous painter of the time, a seductive dancer and a collector from Trentino in love? These questions and other ones will get an answer in an engaging dialogue between two qualified experts.
The next meeting entitled "Magistrates and painters: Trentino's people in Milan during Romanticism" will take place on 5 February.
