VINCENT VAN GOGH – L’odore assordante del bianco (The deafening smell of white)

by Stefano Massini

theatre director Alessandro Magi

with Alessandro Preziosi

production Khora Teatro – Teatro Stabile D’Abruzzo

It must not have been easy for a colour genius to find himself locked up in a place where there was no shade other than white.

It was 1899 when the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh found himself inside the psychiatric hospital of Saint Paul de Manson, about twenty kilometres from Arles.

The show is put on stage as a metaphor for the temporary isolation of Vincent Van Gogh, interpreted by Alessandro Preziosi: the inner torments of the Dutch painter are enclosed in a sort of psychological thriller around the theme of artistic creativity that leaves the viewer breathless from beginning to end.
