Visit of the installation "Leukos"

The artwork was carried out expressly for the National Day of the Ecclesiastical Museums and is the result of an original and curious collaboration between the Museo Diocesano Tridentino and the MUSE of Trento.

The motto for the National Day of the Ecclesiastical Museums was in fact " If I exchange, I change", and the museums taking part in the event were invited to meditate on the concept of exchance, by making an exchange (of works, images, public, ideas ...) with similar museums, but also with other cultural institutions and museums of the area.

This is why the Museo Diocesano Tridentino has lent to the MUSE La creazione di Eva (The Creation of Eve), an important painting made by Tullio Garbari in 1928. On the other hand, the MUSE has lent to the Museo Diocesano Tridentino a grey heron in flight, which artist Annamaria Gelmi has used for her installation Leukos in the palatine chapel of the museum.

This heron soars above a platform that reflects it: a sort of reflecting pool in the shape of a cross as a primordial cosmic sign, which refers to the indissoluble link between life and death.
