The two galleries at the first floor, as an unique big space, greet the visitors through the collections of the Museum, to take them into a long and passionate tale through images.
It is a century-long journey, to enjoy the masterpieces and the protagonists of the XX century and further, up to now.

Thanks to its curators, the Museum restyles itself and creates new unreleased tales by enhancing its own collections and making the visitors' experience unique through a renovated and private relationship with the works of art.

The two chronological and thematic sections, which are into the hands of different curators, are named #modernaclassicità and #canonecontemporaneo.

The first section twists and turns from Medardo Rosso to Giorgio Morandi, moving through Mario Sironi, Carlo Carrà, Arturo Martini, Giorgio de Chirico, Fausto Melotti, Massimo Campigli, Osvaldo Licini and so on. The exhibition goes on with the second half of the XX century from Lucio Fontana to Chen Zen, meeting also John Baldessari and Alberto Burri, Bruce Nauman, Candida Höfer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Luigi Ontani, Cindy Sherman, Wolfans Tillmans.
Together with the masterpieces of the collections, the exhibition highlights the wealth and the variety of the materials and documents kept by the "Archivio del '900" ("Archive of the XX century") of the Museum, which complete the historical excursus with materials added to the ones in exposition: manifestos, invitations, brochures, cuts out, catalogues, correspondences, photographies, recording audios, videos.
