The Diocesan Museum of Trento presents its own contribution to the reflection on the theme of Expo 2015 "Feeding the planet. Energy for Life" EXPO MILANO 2015

it’s an exhibition of about thirty valuable works of art belonging to museum collections of different types and age and they are related to the iconography of the Last Supper. This exhibition, held in the rooms of the ground floor, will be inaugurated on Friday, 6 February at 18.00 and can be visited until 6 April (free entrance).

Besides illustrating the iconography of the ritual meal, the exhibition makes visitors think about themes such as: conviviality, personal relationships and encounters, but also about the emotional tensions that arouse from sitting "at the same table" in everyday life.

Photographs by Luca Chistè, taken in some rest homes in Trentino, remind visitors of spaces of great loneliness that this ritual can leave open.
On display are also paintings and engravings in which the sacred theme is just a pretext to depict kitchens and detailed compositions of food. Some works by Gianluigi Rocca depict kitchen utensils and worn out tableware. They are fragile fragments of memory, silent symbols of peasant culture, full of quiet dignity, that the photographic image of Rodolfo Rensi skillfully portrays in his photographs.
