Shoah and Art

On the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Saturday 27 January, the Mart of Rovereto proposes some meetings to learn more about the artworks by Arturo Nathan and Carlo Levi, which are part of the"Magic Realism" exhibition

“La Shoah dell’Arte” ("Shoah and Art") is a project for museums and theatres all over Italy with the endorsement of the MiBACT, Ministry of Heritage, Cultural Activities and Tourism.

Realismo magico (Magic Realism) - until 2 April at the Mart - is an exhibition rich in suspended and surreal atmospheres that presents painting in Italy between the twenties and thirties of the last century; it includes also artworks by Arturo Nathan and Carlo Levi, who were artists of Jewish origin, victims of fascism and Nazi persecution.

Meetings will take place at 11.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00 and are aimed at presenting the two artists' works in a specific historical context, one of the most tragic ones in history.

Each meeting will last about half an hour, is addressed to individual visitors, groups and school groups, and is included in the museum's admission ticket.

Booking required for school groups.
