The Rediscovered Apostles

Masterpieces from the ancient residence of the prince-bishops of Trento

The Museum has decided to introduce you through this new series of short videos to the Christmas exhibition at the Buonconsiglio Castle entitled "Gli Apostoli ritrovati" ("The Rediscovered Apostles "). The exhibition was opened on 22 December, and after being moved to the Stenico Castle, it will close on 5 September 2021.

We will tell you about this successful rediscovery in 12 short video appointments, in which the museum curators will talk about the exhibition, the works, the artists involved, collecting, iconography, artistic techniques and historical photographs.

Alessandro Casagrande introduces us to the exhibition, with images and direction by Alessandro Ferrini.

Buonconsiglio Castle

The Buonconsiglio Castle is the largest and most important monumental complex of the Trentino Alto Adige region. It was the residence of the prince-bishops of Trento from the 13th century to the end of the 18th century. Castelvecchio is the oldest nucleus; the Magno Palazzo is the 16th century expansion and is one of the most sumptuous Renaissance-style palaces in Italy.
