Vasio Castle

The first evidence comes from 1237, when it was granted from Egnone II, cousin of the counts of Appiano, to Bertoldo of Cloz. Recently restored, the fortress is open to the public.

The castle stands on a hill nearby the hamlet of Vasio, in the Fondo municipality. Situated in the middle of a cultivated area, after Bertoldo of Cloz death in 1237 the castle went back in possession of the Trentino episcopacy.
After many changes of property, Vasio Castle turned up in the hand of the counts of Arsio, who undertook important works of restoration to the castle, which was by the time in ruins.
Additional works have been made recently, and now the manor house is open to the public and offers a holiday farmhouse where people can relax and enjoy the view of Non valley.
