Bertagnolli Mill or Giò a l'aca - Fondo

Nowadays, alongside the deep canyon of the stream Sass, only the Bertagnolli Mill is surviving: there were milled wheat, buckwheat, rye and corn till 1950.

Once, alongside the deep canyon of the stream Sass, there were operating seven mills and two sawmills. Nowadays, only the Bertagnolli Mill is surviving; there were milled wheat, buckwheat, rye and corn till 1950. Its two big waterwheels made respectively turn a grindstone and a grindstone with a muller for the barley husking. With the exception of the paddle wheel, which has been recently reconstructed, all the machineries are old and in a perfect state of preservation. In the rooms, in addition to the "stai", the "minèle" (both are measures to quantify flour) and the scales, there are on display the tools to clean the grain, the fan, the sieves, two chests for flour and an original slide with a raised edge to hold tight the sacks. The other objects, among which a lathe (dated back to the early XX century), bear witness to the work once carried out in the village.
