The memory of a thread/Arachne. This is not a story about spiders

The series continues on Sunday 25 May at 14.30 with two film screenings, “The Memory of a Thread” directed by Franco Zaffanella and "Arachne. Not a Spider Story" by Polish director Gabi Bania. “The Memory of a Thread” is a film for the whole family that rigorously and engagingly traces the stages of making a prehistoric garment, from sowing flax to weaving on a loom. The main objective of this project was to make a garment with plant fiber from the stems of the flax plant, without the use of electronic or mechanical equipment.
Among other things, the project has included the construction of a vertical loom with weights, spindles, and other tools for processing fiber, such as loom weights and clay spindles. "Arachne. Not a Spider Story" is the film adaptation of the Arachne myth. However, it offers a different aspect of the myth with deep content. The myth of Arachne is not a simple spider story, but an image that shows the important social problem of excessive competitiveness, the race for success that is often observed among young people, and which can lead to irreversible tragedies.
