A rich schedule with theatrical tours, aperitifs, exclusive evenings, conferences and workshops

October passes on the “velvet” at the Castello del Buonconsiglio with a rich schedule of evenings dedicated to the precious world of antique fabrics.     

It's an October full of events all dedicated to the fascinating theme of the exhibition Golden threads and silk paintings. Velvet and embroidery between Gothic and Renaissance, held at the Castello del Buonconsiglio: exclusive guided tours to the exhibition with evening aperitifs, theatrical tours, conferences, family activities and workshops.

Wednesday 2 October, Thursday 10, Thursday 17 and Tuesday 29, at 18.00: exclusive guided tours to the exhibition and aperitif, respectively with exhibition curator Laura Dalprà, and historians Mirco Longhi, Alessandra Geromel and Marina Carmignani (cost: € 15 - aperitif included).

Sunday 6 and 20 October at 15.00: family activity “Storie di tessuto, stoffa e abbracci” (Stories of fabric and hugs) curated by Giovanna Palmieri and Alessio Kogoj: a theatrical performance for children, in which fabrics dance and tell stories between memories and feelings (cost: € 8 per family - admission and visit are included).

Friday 11 and Tuesday 22 October at 18.30 and at 20.45 Il Funambolo presents the theatrical tour “L’abito fa il vescovo: storia di un mercante convinto di andare sul velluto” (Clothes make the bishop: story of a merchant who was sure he was walking on the velvet). The story takes place in Venice in 1491 (cost: € 10)

Saturday 5, 12, and 26 at 15.00: “Laboriosamente in museo” are three theme tours curated by Gadotti Moda design ("RicamarteTra trama e ordito and Tinti  e ritinti") which let visitors admire various embroideries, fabrics, colours, and let them also get to know materials and techniques to create their own colours at home (cost: € 10).

Wednesday 9, 16, 23 and 30 October at 18.00: conferences with experts in various fields to delve deeper into themes and aspects relating fashion and textile manufacturing in the fifteenth century as well as today (free admission): “La via della seta” with Alberto Saccavini,  “L’arte della seta” with Alessandra Geromel, “Il filo del Rinascimento” with Giovanni Villa, and “L’arte del sarto” with Elisa Tosi Brandi.  

Every Sunday at 11.00: guided tour to the exhibition.
