The castles of Trentino never cease to reveal themselves and amaze through the many activities organized by the Castello del Buonconsiglio Museum in its various locations. Also this week there are many opportunities to choose from:

* Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 11.00 Castello del Buonconsiglio:  TRAME IN CASTELLO     (WEFTS IN THE CASTLE)

In August guided tours are organised at fixed hours to discover the Castle of Buonconsiglio and explore the fascinating exhibition 'Fili d'oro e dipinti di seta' ('Golden threads and silk paintings' ) set up in the halls of the Magno Palazzo.

*Tuesday, August 27 at 15.00 Castel Beseno: dicastelinCASTELLO  (From Castle to Castle)

Family team game inspired by the traditional Goose Game: while having fun, an opportunity to play and learn something more about the castles of Trentino, winning a visit to discover the castle, as well as a copy of the game to continue to have fun at home.

*Wednesday, August 28 at 15.00 Castel Stenico: COLORI  FLUTTUANTI  (FLOATING COLORS)

On the occasion of the current exhibition at the Stenico Castle, which tells the story of the marbled paper over the centuries, visitors, young and old alike, are invited to take part in a workshop to try different techniques and create their own colourful marbled papers to take home.

*Thursday 29 August at 15.00 Castel Thun: IN VISITA A CORTE  (VISITING THE COURT)

An activity of discovery of the castle for families with children aged 6-11.

A hunt for clues that stage by stage involves the whole family in a fascinating journey through the environments of the castle.

* Saturday 30 August and Sunday 1 September Castel Beseno: RIEVOCAZIONI STORICHE  (HISTORICAL REENACTMENTS) Tents and soldiers, weapons and banners, vintage clothing and equipment will bring the daily life of the sixteenth century back to the present day.

Stenico castle

The Castello di Stenico is an exhibition venue of the Castello del Buonconsiglio. It dates back to more than 2000 years, and was first built as a refuge for the Stoni, from which the town takes its name

Beseno castle

Castel Beseno occupies an entire hilltop dominating the Valle dell'Adige, between Rovereto and Trento, and it can be reached by going through Besenello. Many historical battles took place in this fortress - i.e. the 1487 battle between Trentino troops and the Venetians, as well as the armed battles between the French revolutionists and the Austrians in the two world wars-. In 1973 the Trapp counts donated the Beseno castle to the Autonomous Province of Trento which carried out extensive re-construction works.

Caldes Castle

The oldest written source about the castle dates back to 1235. The building is currently owned by the Autonomous Province of Trento, which has refurbished it and transformed it into a prestigious venue for temporary exhibitions and cultural events.

Thun castle

Built in the 1250s, it was the main residence of the Thun family. It was open to the public in 2010, and is nowadays one of the venues of the Castello del Buonconsiglio Museum.
