Trentino rediscovers the beauty of its monuments and places them in the "Network." For the second year, "Wiki Loves Monuments" is back, the largest photo contest in the world: citizens are invited  to document our local cultural heritage with images released with the free license Creative Commons "Attribuzione-Condividi allo stesso modo"(CC-bY-SA 4.0.)

The photos are uploaded on " Wikimedia Commons ", a procedure that makes them immediately available for use on the free encyclopedia Wikipedia.

The competition has already started (on 1 September), and there is time until September 30 to take part. To join the competition, you need to upload a photograph of the monument - under a free license - on Wikimedia Commons. It’s an effective way to enhance the immense Italian cultural heritage on the web, inviting everybody to document a cultural heritage which is unique in the world.
The complete list of monuments to be photographed can be found at this link:

As part of ”Wiki Loves Monuments” some tours are organised, the so-called "WikiGite", that is opportunities to visit some monuments, in order to make photos and then upload them on Wikimedia Commons (to take part in the competition).

Also in Trentino, this year, a local competition will be proposed: the best photo will be awarded and will be part of the photographic traveling exhibition in 2017(the jury and prizes haven’t been decided yet).
