F@MU - National Family Day at the Museum

A cultural event dedicated to children at the Rhaetic Museum, at the Archaeological Park "Archeo Natura" of Fiavé, and at the Fiavé Pile dwelling Museum, on the occasion of the F@MU National Family Day at the Museum

Open doors to families on Sunday 9 October at the Museo Retico (Rhaetic Museum) - Centre for the archaeology and ancient history of the Val di NonMuseo delle Palafitte di Fiavé (Fiavé Pile dwelling Museum), Parco Archeo Natura di Fiavé (Archaeological Park "Archeo Natura" of Fiavé) on the occasion of the F@MU National Family Day at the Museum, a cultural event dedicated to children to make the exhibition venues more and more suitable for younger visitors. The theme of this year's edition "Diversi ma Uguali" (Different, yet the same) emphasises the enhancement of diversity (cultural, physical, cognitive) as a necessaty tool for social inclusion.

Children taking part in the event will receive the "F@Mu notebook", a small publication dedicated to the day and the specific theme of each edition, which is given free of charge to everybody. Within the pages of the book, Geronimo Stilton will accompany the children on their exploratory journey, with games and activities.

The National Family Day at at the Museum is organised by the Families at the Museum Cultural Association with the endorsement of the Ministry of Culture and ICOM Italy.

Over 800 exhibition venues nationwide have participated in the initiative in past editions.

On the waters of Carera's Lake: a pile dwelling, a block of flats or terraced houses?
A workshop for children and adults to get involved and discover differences and similarities between the houses of yesterday and those of today.

Peace plots

The reading of some thematic illustrated books and an animated story will lead participants to discover jewelry, weapons and precious materials that the inhabitants of the stilt houses used or yearned for. Adults and children will be asked to peacefully confront and resolve a small conflict, eventually creating some plots inspired by the themes of peace.
